With the increase of processing temperature, the molecular arrangement of mesocarbon microspheres does not change, the hydrogen content decreases, the interlayer spacing decreases, the density increases, and the unit cell becomes larger;

The mesophase structure changes at 600°C, and it becomes solid above 700°C, and the specific surface area has a maximum value.

Shrinkage cracks are formed at about 1000°C, and the direction of the cracks is parallel to the layer direction of mesocarbon microspheres.

The mesocarbon microspheres and their heat-treated products are hydrophobic.

After modifying the surface, the surface activity is very high.
